Back in January of this year I told you about a forum post that Andrew Cavanagh did over at the Warrior Forum.

Titled “Offline Gold”, Andrew gave details of how he approaches local business owners in his area and asks them if they have a website and if they do, how much business is it getting them. Andrew then retained the owner as a client and got paid by this business owner for developing a website and getting it high on Google through some basic SEO thus getting the business more traffic and sales.

This forum post went on to become one of the biggest and most read posts in Warrior history when Andrew decided to make his findings into an ebook, “Offline Gold”

Yours truly put his methods to the test and I actually got over $900 worth of new fence done at my house for building a local fencing contractor a website and getting him business. You can read my testimonial at the site.

An offshoot to all this is that Andrew has teamed up with Jim Cockrum of “Silent Sales Machine Hiding On Ebay” fame to develop a site that teaches you all the methods. I have followed Andrew for some time now because of the valuable information he freely gives away but when I got the email telling me he had teamed up with Jim Cockrum, I had to race over there and I suggest you do too.

OK. I admit I am a fan of Jon Leger. It is a fact that by following his methods my online earnings have increased more than 3 fold.

I have used a variety of his tools over the past 18 months to acheive this but the biggie has been his 3 way links program.

I have been involved in this for near on 12 months now and I wanted to give you examples of its worth.

Before we get into facts and figures I have to say that it is against the TOS of 3 way links to divulge URL’s or chosen keywords used in 3way links. This is to protect the integrity of the program.

Here we go….

For the uninitiated, 3waylinks.net is as the name implies. A simple 3 way linking program where site A links to site B which links to site C.

Upon joining you submit a URL and pick 3 keywords or keyword phrases you want to target.
Your first keyword will be shown 60% of the time, your 2nd keyword 30% and your 3rd is spread out for the remaining 10%.

This process is vital. Do plenty of research to make sure you select the right set of keywords.

You can put up to 50 websites in the system with your membership. I have one. Only one site. That’s it. All the figures and stats I give you now are for one site. Multiply the results by the number of sites you intend to put into the system.

I submitted my website in early July of ‘07. I was very eager to jump into it so my keyword research was not that well thought through. Not that I regret it now but if I had my time over again, I would have spent more time on this.

Below is a graph of the journey of my number 1 keyword. I use digitalpoint.com to track the progress of my keywords. As you can see, it fluctuated for the first 6-8 weeks but it has settled down nicely since mid September until now.

It has been top 10 on Google 9 months. It has been top 5 for 6 of those months and top 3 for the majority of those. It is actually #1 as we speak out of 24.1 Million results and 17 pages of Adwords Ads. It is competing with 4 of the most well known websites in this niche and we have a tremendous battle getting the coveted #1.

According to Adwords, it costs $3.83 a click so it is very competitive.

Now for numbers. Since Jan 1 this year I have had 1780 visits from Google for this keyword which is nearly 10 a day. So what, you say. Well, I have also had over 13,000 visits for variations of the keyword which is nearly 80 per day. My phrase has 4 words. For example, it could be “buy new blue widgets”. I get visits for “where to buy widgets”,”new blue widgets”, “widgets where to buy new” etc etc. I have had results for over 85 variations of my phrase. 23 of these variations are top 10 in Google as of today.

Obviously, I am a fan of 3 way links. Whilst the income derived from this has not yet allowed me to become full time, it has given me choices I did not have 12 months ago.

It is true. It really happened. And I am going to reveal exactly how I did it. It was a piece of cake too. Honestly, it was super simple. The terrific thing about it is that you can do it too. I will not sugar coat anything or inflate statistics. Just my process of how I did it.Want some really good news? I have actually done it 3 times now to see if it works consistently, and it does, but this is a case study of my first attempt at this.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention. Well over 8 months ago it was necessary that I start making decent money online. My “hours in” column heavily outweighed my “income out” column and it was time to get the balance going the other way.
